Lithograph

What is a Lithograph?

Lithography is a printing method based on the principle that water and oil do not mix. It can be used to print artwork or text onto paper or other suitable materials. Traditionally, an image was drawn with wax, fat, or oil onto a lithographic limestone surface or plate. Today, metal plates and other surfaces are also used in lithographic printing.

Woodblock printing

Woodblock printing is a technique that uses a carved wooden surface to create an image on materials such as paper or cloth. Ink or paint is applied thinly to the carved surface, which is then pressed against the material to transfer the image. This method has been historically significant in various cultures for producing prints and textiles.

Hard Edge art

Hard Edge art is a style of abstract painting that became popular in the 1960s. It features areas of color separated by crisp, sharp edges that are painted with geometric precision. The term hard-edge painting was coined by art critic Jules Langsner to describe this approach, which contrasts with the softer, more fluid forms of other abstract styles.

Acrylic on canvas

Acrylic on canvas is a technique where acrylic paint is applied to a canvas surface using tools like brushes and palette knives. Acrylic paint is a synthetic medium made from liquid plastic, which can be thinned with water and dries quickly when exposed to air. This fast-drying quality makes it versatile for layering and various painting techniques.
