Bertrand Lavier

Original Signed Artworks & Limited Edition Prints For Sale

Bertrand Lavier is known for marrying the methods of sculpting and painting. He also creates works that are a representation of abstract theories, as well as the connection between life and art. Lavier is also known for creating "demonstrations" for his artwork. This is usually to challenge the images that are commonplace in the human mind for both concrete and abstract reasons.

« Art is a matter of paradoxes on nearly every level. »
Bertrand Lavier
Bertrand Lavier's works are designed to question what the brain deems as intelligent or artistic in order to provoke more thought in the viewer when it comes to creative expression. For instance, some of his works feature eye-catching luxury furniture items with classic home appliances.

« it is the virtual world that enables us
to approach a deeper reality. »

Bertrand Lavier

Bertrand Lavier was born in 1949 in Chatillon-sur-Seine in France. He now lives and works in Paris. In 2012, Lavier had the honor of having a major retrospective at Paris' Centre Georges Pompidou. He has also had individual exhibitions at locations such as Musee Hermes in Russia and the Museum of Modern Art in St. Etienne, France
