Original Signed Artworks & Limited Edition Prints For Sale

Mateo López (b. 1978 Colombia) is a contemporary Colombian artist known for his multidisciplinary approach that blurs the boundaries between drawing, sculpture, installation, and performance. López’s work is characterized by its exploration of space, time, and narrative, often employing everyday objects and meticulously crafted drawings to create environments that invite viewers into a world of imagination and reflection.

« Everyone knows what it feels to be lonely, to be afraid they will never find happiness. »
Mateo Lopez
His intricate, detailed drawings frequently serve as blueprints for larger installations, where the line between two-dimensional and three-dimensional art is intentionally obscured.

« I like to believe that the emotions expressed in the play are universal, even if the play depicts characters far from the experiences of most Hartford audiences. »
Mateo Lopez

López often integrates elements of storytelling and personal history into his work, using his artistic practice as a means of navigating memory and experience. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at prestigious venues such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the São Paulo Biennial, making him a significant figure in contemporary Latin American art.
