'RIKKA from the album Diam' by Victor Vasarely is a serigraph measuring 70 × 62 cm, hand-signed and from a numbered edition. A grid of isometric cubes rendered in lavender, yellow, grey, and black covers the entire composition. Three spherical forms — two upper zones darkening toward charcoal at their centres, one lower zone brightening to saturated yellow — appear to bulge from the flat surface through precise modulation of tone and colour across the cube faces. Vasarely was the leading figure of the Op Art movement, and works like this demonstrate the system he developed across the 1960s onward: a repeating geometric unit whose optical behaviour changes entirely depending on how local colour values are shifted. The 'Diam' album, dated 1988, belongs to his mature print output, in which seriality was central — Vasarely held that the original idea, not any single object, constitutes the work.
