'Folkokta from the album Diam' by Victor Vasarely is a serigraph from 1988, measuring 70 × 62 cm, hand-signed and from a numbered edition. The composition fills its square field with a dense grid of nested concentric forms — diamonds and rounded squares alternating across quadrants — rendered in saturated primaries and secondaries against a lavender-violet ground. The shift between diamond and circular-edged unit types across the grid's four sections creates a pulsing visual oscillation without any illusionistic three-dimensional curve. Vasarely, the central figure of the Op Art movement, built his practice around the principle that the generative idea — not the individual object — carries the artistic value, a philosophy that made the editioned print a natural vehicle for his work.
