Signed and numbered // This limited edition Yellow Tulips by Alex Katz is a silkscreen print from 2014, featuring Katz's signature minimalist style and bold use of color. The work depicts a cluster of vibrant yellow tulips set against a stark black background, with abstracted green and pale yellow leaves weaving throughout. Katz’s flat, graphic approach simplifies the forms, giving the flowers a modern, almost stylized quality, yet retaining a sense of natural elegance. The sharp contrasts between the bright blooms and the dark backdrop make the flowers appear almost illuminated, drawing the viewer's attention to the simple beauty of the tulips. This print is signed and numbered by the artist, measuring an impressive 122.5 × 195.7 cm (48.2 × 77 in), which allows the striking floral imagery to have a powerful impact on the viewer.

What is Nouveau Realism?
Nouveau Réalisme is an artistic movement founded in 1960 by art critic Pierre Restany and painter Yves Klein during a collective exhibition at a gallery in Milan. Restany wrote the original manifesto in April 1960, proclaiming the movement. In October of that year, nine artists, including Martial Raysse, Yves Klein, Daniel Spoerri, Jean Tinguely, Arman, Pierre Restany, and three Ultra-Lettrists—Jacques de la Villeglé, François Dufrêne, and Raymond Hains—signed the declaration. In 1961, the movement expanded to include Mimmo Rotella, Niki de Saint Phalle, Gérard Deschamps, and César. The movement emphasized a return to reality in art, often incorporating everyday objects and exploring the boundaries between art and life.
