Woodcut on cream laid paper. Printed by Jack Shirreff at 107 Workshop, Wiltshire. Published by Pace Gallery, New York. Literature: D’Oench and Feinberg 147. Left Panel, from The Three Sydney Close Woodcuts (1983) by Jim Dine is a powerful black-and-white woodcut featuring an expressive, almost abstract rendering of dense organic forms. Bold strokes and raw textures dominate the composition, likely depicting a wild, overgrown plant or tree with an intense visual energy. The rich contrasts and gestural marks reveal Dine’s deep engagement with the woodcut medium, allowing the grain and resistance of the material to guide the final image. This printer’s proof, aside from the edition of 36, was printed by Jack Shirreff at 107 Workshop and reflects Dine’s ongoing exploration of natural forms filtered through a physical, almost sculptural printmaking process.

What is Neo-Dada?
Neo-Dada is a minor visual and audio art movement with intents similar to those of Dada artwork. While it revives some of Dada's objectives, Neo-Dada emphasizes the importance of the produced artwork rather than the concept behind it. The movement is considered the foundation of Pop Art, Nouveau Réalisme, and Fluxus. Neo-Dada is known for its use of absurdist contrasts, popular imagery, and modern materials, blending high and low culture in a way that challenges traditional artistic conventions.
