woodcut and lithograph on collage BFK Rives paper // Chartres - Second Version by Jim Dine, created in 2015, is a limited edition mixed media print combining woodcut and lithograph on collage BFK Rives paper, measuring 35.5 by 55.5 inches. This large-scale piece showcases eight prominent red hearts arranged in two rows of four, set against a dark, textured background filled with streaks of yellow and blue. The hearts are layered with expressive brushstrokes and varied textures, creating a sense of depth and movement within each form. The rough, tactile quality of the woodcut technique emphasizes the emotional intensity and raw aesthetic that Dine often infuses into his work. By repeating the heart motif, Dine invites viewers to explore themes of love, repetition, and the passage of time. The juxtaposition of bright, vibrant hearts against the darker, complex background suggests a dialogue between light and darkness, evoking both warmth and introspection.

What is Neo-Dada?
Neo-Dada is a minor visual and audio art movement with intents similar to those of Dada artwork. While it revives some of Dada's objectives, Neo-Dada emphasizes the importance of the produced artwork rather than the concept behind it. The movement is considered the foundation of Pop Art, Nouveau Réalisme, and Fluxus. Neo-Dada is known for its use of absurdist contrasts, popular imagery, and modern materials, blending high and low culture in a way that challenges traditional artistic conventions.
