Woodcut, screenprint, and collage on 3-ply Supra 100 paper // Roy Lichtenstein’s Imperfect 223 (1988) is a limited edition mixed-media work that exemplifies his mastery of blending geometry with pop art sensibilities. Using woodcut, screenprint, and collage techniques on 3-ply Supra paper, Lichtenstein combines sharp angles, bold colors, and his signature Ben-Day dots to create a dynamic composition. The overlapping shapes, with diagonal stripes and vivid tones like yellow, red, and grey, play with depth and perspective. The title, Imperfect, reflects the intentional disruption of traditional geometric balance, a playful nod to modern abstraction and the tension between order and chaos. This piece is a striking example of Lichtenstein's innovation in printmaking.

What is site specific art?
Site-Specific Art is a form of artwork created to exist in a particular location, with the artist considering the site as an integral part of the creative process. Robert Irwin was a key figure in promoting this art form in California. Site-Specific Art emerged as a reaction against modernist objects, which were often portable, commodified, and confined to museum spaces. In contrast, Site-Specific Art is inherently tied to its location, challenging the traditional notions of art as a transportable and marketable commodity.
