Edition of 100 - Lithograph - Suite: Ten Winter Tools - In excellent condition // C-Clamp by Jim Dine, part of the Ten Winter Tools series from 1973, is a lithograph that brings a simple, functional tool into a fine art context. The C-clamp is depicted in the center of the composition, with soft, atmospheric shading and a misty, almost smoky texture that adds depth and focus. Dine’s attention to detail, even in this utilitarian object, invites viewers to see the C-clamp beyond its practical purpose, appreciating its shape and form. The minimalist use of space around the central figure allows the tool to appear monumental, giving it a presence that is both strong and contemplative. Limited to an edition of 100, this piece showcases Dine’s ability to elevate everyday items, encouraging a new perspective on the objects we often overlook.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
