Woodcut with hand-painting - Signed, dated and numbered to upper left - Printed by the artist, Jeffrey Berman and Nicholas Dine, Aspen and published by Pace, New York. - Literature: D'Oench/Feinberg 155 // Jim Dine's A Double Feature (1983) is a monumental woodcut with hand-painting, measuring 130 x 192 cm. This expressive work features two mirrored portraits of a weathered face, rendered in bold, gestural strokes of red, blue, black, and flesh tones. The textured woodcut technique, combined with Dine’s hand-painted embellishments, lends the piece a raw and visceral quality. The juxtaposition of the two figures invites contemplation of duality and self-perception, common themes in Dine’s oeuvre. Signed, dated, and numbered at the upper left, the piece was printed by the artist with Jeffrey Berman and Nicholas Dine in Aspen and published by Pace, New York. This work is documented in D'Oench/Feinberg 155.

What is Kitsch?
Kitsch is a term used to describe cheap, commercial, sentimental, or vulgar art and objects commonly associated with popular culture. The word is borrowed from German, where it originally means trash. Since the 1920s, kitsch has been used to denote the opposite of high art, often implying that the work lacks sophistication or artistic merit.
