Diasec-mounted giclee print mounted on aluminium Unsigned; Numbered on the back. Sold with the original packaging. Published by Heni Productions, London. Tulips (P17) by Gerhard Richter is a giclée print mounted on aluminum and finished with Diasec, exemplifying the artist's signature use of photographic blur. Depicting a bouquet of yellow tulips in soft focus, the work captures a fleeting visual impression, emphasizing perception over detail. The indistinct forms and diffuse lighting evoke a sense of intimacy and transience, aligning with Richter's interest in the boundaries between photography and painting. Released in 2017 as an edition of 500, this piece continues Richter’s exploration of everyday subjects rendered with emotional detachment and technical precision.

What is Nouveau Realism?
Nouveau Réalisme is an artistic movement founded in 1960 by art critic Pierre Restany and painter Yves Klein during a collective exhibition at a gallery in Milan. Restany wrote the original manifesto in April 1960, proclaiming the movement. In October of that year, nine artists, including Martial Raysse, Yves Klein, Daniel Spoerri, Jean Tinguely, Arman, Pierre Restany, and three Ultra-Lettrists—Jacques de la Villeglé, François Dufrêne, and Raymond Hains—signed the declaration. In 1961, the movement expanded to include Mimmo Rotella, Niki de Saint Phalle, Gérard Deschamps, and César. The movement emphasized a return to reality in art, often incorporating everyday objects and exploring the boundaries between art and life.
