Seestück (bewölkt)

Gerhard Richter's Abstraktes Bild (P1), 1990/2014, chromogenic print with dynamic abstract composition in vivid colors, mounted on aluminum.

Chromogenic print mounted on aluminium - Heni Productions Catalogue Number: P1 - Numbered and titled on the back. unsigned // Gerhard Richter's Abstraktes Bild (P1) (1990/2014) is a striking chromogenic print that encapsulates his mastery of abstract expressionism. The image displays a vibrant explosion of colors, with sweeping brushstrokes of red, blue, yellow, and green on a textured surface, creating a dynamic and layered composition. Richter’s signature technique of blending and distorting colors, along with the seemingly random placement of hues, invites the viewer to experience the chaos and harmony inherent in his work. The print, mounted on aluminum, measures 126 x 92 cm (49.6 x 36.2 in) and is part of a limited edition of 500. It is numbered and titled on the back but remains unsigned, characteristic of Richter's approach to creating editions.

What is Nouveau Realism?

Nouveau Réalisme is an artistic movement founded in 1960 by art critic Pierre Restany and painter Yves Klein during a collective exhibition at a gallery in Milan. Restany wrote the original manifesto in April 1960, proclaiming the movement. In October of that year, nine artists, including Martial Raysse, Yves Klein, Daniel Spoerri, Jean Tinguely, Arman, Pierre Restany, and three Ultra-Lettrists—Jacques de la Villeglé, François Dufrêne, and Raymond Hains—signed the declaration. In 1961, the movement expanded to include Mimmo Rotella, Niki de Saint Phalle, Gérard Deschamps, and César. The movement emphasized a return to reality in art, often incorporating everyday objects and exploring the boundaries between art and life.
