Photorealism

What is photorealism?

Photorealism is a genre of art or artistic movement that involves drawing, painting, and other graphic media in which the artist carefully studies a photograph and attempts to reproduce it as realistically as possible in another medium. While the term can broadly describe any artwork created in this manner, it specifically refers to a group of painters and paintings in the U.S. art movement that emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Figurative art

Sometimes known as Figurativism, figurative art refers to sculptures and paintings that are clearly or specifically derived from real objects, making them representational. The term figurative art is often used in contrast to abstract art. However, since the emergence of abstract art, figurative art has come to describe any form of modern art that has strong references to the real world or actual situations.

Acrylic paint

Acrylic paint is a fast-drying paint made from pigment suspended in an acrylic polymer emulsion. It is water-soluble when wet but becomes water-resistant once dry. Acrylic paints offer unique characteristics that are not easily achieved with other media, allowing for effects similar to both oil and watercolor paintings while providing their own distinct qualities.

Inkjet print

An inkjet printer creates prints by spraying millions of tiny ink droplets onto paper. This type of printing is generally inexpensive because the ink is relatively affordable. Artists can use computers to create digital art, which can then be printed in color using inkjet technology.
