Two Colour Silkscreen - Signed and numbered on the front - Published by Pace Gallery // Untitled (Yellow Divide) by Carmen Herrera is a minimalist silkscreen print featuring a bold composition of geometric forms. A large yellow rectangle dominates the center of the artwork, bisected by a green diagonal line that subtly disrupts the uniformity. The simplicity of the design, with its clean lines and sharp contrast between yellow and green, embodies Herrera’s commitment to precision and abstraction. The negative space surrounding the central form emphasizes the starkness of the composition, allowing the viewer to focus on the purity of color and form. This work reflects Herrera's exploration of balance, form, and simplicity within her abstract minimalist approach.

What is minimalism?
Minimalism is a style in music and visual arts characterized by pared-down designs and simplicity. It began in Western art after World War II, gaining prominence particularly in American visual arts. Minimalism draws heavily on aspects of modernism and is often viewed as a reaction against Abstract Expressionism, as well as a precursor to post-minimal art practices. Prominent minimalist artists include Agnes Martin, Donald Judd, Robert Morris, Frank Stella, and Dan Flavin.
