The image tightly frames Emin’s torso, capturing her in a black lace bra with a raw, unposed intimacy. As with many of her self-portraits, this work explores themes of identity, vulnerability, and corporeality. The visible creases and folds of the body challenge idealized representations of femininity, asserting a candid and honest perspective.
