// Apartment 6 by Julian Opie, a woodcut created in 2021, embodies the artist’s characteristic minimalist style and architectural focus. This limited edition print, measuring 29.9 x 64 cm, depicts a row of apartment buildings rendered in stark, simplified forms. The black and white composition emphasizes the repetitive nature and uniformity of urban architecture, evoking a sense of modernity and anonymity within city life. Opie’s work often distills complex forms into basic outlines, and this piece highlights his ability to reduce structures to their essential shapes, creating a visually striking and thought-provoking commentary on urban environments.

What is new British Sculpture?
New British Sculpture is the name referring to the work produced by a group of sculptors, installation artists, and other creators who exhibited together in London during the 1980s. This group included artists like Richard Deacon, Richard Wentworth, and Tony Cragg. Tim Woods helped define this movement by identifying four major themes: the blending of kitsch and pop culture, the use of UK urban waste in a bricolage style, the assignment of new meanings to everyday objects, and a playful approach using wit and humor.
