Colour lithograph on Somerset velvet warm white 400gsm paper - Signed, numbered, dated and titled on the front // Tracey Emin’s I Couldn't Tell Anyone I Loved You is a deeply personal and emotive lithograph, exemplifying her raw, expressive style. Rendered in black and white, the image depicts a loosely sketched female figure, her face partially obscured in shadow, with minimalist lines suggesting a vulnerable and introspective posture. The dark brushstrokes convey a sense of emotional weight, while the open, unfinished quality of the composition suggests inner conflict or unspoken feelings. The title, handwritten by Emin along the bottom, adds another layer of intimacy, reinforcing the themes of love, secrecy, and unexpressed emotions. Signed, numbered, and dated on the front, this lithograph embodies Emin’s characteristic ability to combine the personal with the universal, creating works that resonate with viewers on a deeply emotional level.

Who are the Young British Artists - YBA
Young British Artists (YBAs), also known as Britart or Brit artists, refers to a group of artists who began exhibiting together in London in 1988. Most of them graduated from the BA Fine Arts course at Goldsmiths in the late 1980s. The YBAs are known for their wild lifestyles, use of unconventional materials, and a combination of entrepreneurial and oppositional attitudes. They dominated the British art scene in the 1990s and gained significant media attention. Many of these artists were initially supported and collected by Charles Saatchi, a key figure in their rise to prominence.
