The complete portfolio of 4 prints. Signed, numbered & dated. Published by American Image Art, New York.
Across all four sheets Indiana's iconic HOPE stack appears in solid gold, the letters cut from the same block as his celebrated LOVE. What changes is the field behind them: a cool grey fading to lavender, a teal sliding into candy pink, a spring blue melting into green and yellow, and a hot red sliding to amber. The gold ink catches light differently against each gradient, giving the portfolio a jewel-like, seasonal rhythm. Produced in 2012 for American Image Art, the complete set restates Indiana's word-as-icon language in a luxe, metallic register built for collectors chasing his rarest palette.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
