28 colour screenprint on Somerset Tub sized satin white 410 gsm. Signed, dated and numbered. Purple Peaches (2024) by Nicolas Party is a striking 28-color screenprint that plays with form, color, and composition in a characteristically surreal and stylized manner. A mound of soft, round fruit in shades of violet, lavender, and blush is piled into an exaggeratedly simple white bowl, set against a vibrant green backdrop and a peach-toned surface. The bold use of saturated color, precise shading, and minimal detail evokes a dreamlike stillness. A delicate linear element intersects the bowl, adding an abstract twist that disrupts the otherwise classical still life. Produced in a limited edition of 100, the work reflects Party’s contemporary reinterpretation of traditional genres.

What is site specific art?
Site-Specific Art is a form of artwork created to exist in a particular location, with the artist considering the site as an integral part of the creative process. Robert Irwin was a key figure in promoting this art form in California. Site-Specific Art emerged as a reaction against modernist objects, which were often portable, commodified, and confined to museum spaces. In contrast, Site-Specific Art is inherently tied to its location, challenging the traditional notions of art as a transportable and marketable commodity.
