Watercolour on paper. Hand-signed by artist, Signed verso. // A solitary blue cat sits on a soft blue-grey horizon, body painted in flat watercolour washes of slate and cobalt, tail rising in a slow S-curve at the right, geometric face features facing the viewer head-on. The pose recalls Egyptian funerary cats; the colour is pure Party. Watercolour on paper, hand-signed verso. Party's animals are as collected as his portraits — quiet, considered, profoundly modern in their reduction. A delightfully focused work to acquire for any collection following one of the most desirable contemporary painters of his generation.

What is site specific art?
Site-Specific Art is a form of artwork created to exist in a particular location, with the artist considering the site as an integral part of the creative process. Robert Irwin was a key figure in promoting this art form in California. Site-Specific Art emerged as a reaction against modernist objects, which were often portable, commodified, and confined to museum spaces. In contrast, Site-Specific Art is inherently tied to its location, challenging the traditional notions of art as a transportable and marketable commodity.
