Triptych of 3 lithographs. // This expansive triptych of three lithographs by Atsushi Kaga presents Usacchi the rabbit in the company of seagulls, the three-panel format creating a panoramic narrative that unfolds like a Japanese screen painting. The Spanish title reflects the cosmopolitan nature of Kaga's practice, while the imagery connects to his adopted Irish coastal landscape. Usacchi stands amid the wheeling birds with characteristic equanimity, accepting their chaotic presence as a natural part of the seaside experience. Kaga's hand-colouring unifies the three panels into a harmonious whole, the coastal light and movement of birds creating a sense of freedom and expansive possibility.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
