During this time frame of Brice Marden’s career he moved to Paris and began to create pieces made from compressed charcoal and graphite. These grid-patterned drawings naturally followed his paintings and would then transfer into most recent works. Brice Marden earned international fame in the early 70's for his monochrome panel. After he and his wife moved to Greece his paintings began to show the influence of the landscape there as he used more light. This influence can be seen in his group of paintings, Grove Group. Brice Marden eventually made a total of 31 paintings on marble fragments using oil. By the year 2000, Brice Marden created his longest panel; which, included two measuring 24 feet, in the painting The Propitious Garden of Plane Image. He has been featured in numerous group exhibitions and has also had numerous one-person shows. He is currently represented by a gallery where one of his paintings sold for almost three million dollars. His, The Attended sold in 2013 for $10.9 million.
