Marc Chagall’s The Prophet (1974) is a luminous lithograph from an edition of only 50, capturing a dreamlike biblical vision in the artist's unmistakable style. The composition depicts a reclining prophet, open book in hand, accompanied by a figure (possibly a muse or listener), while above them angels ascend and descend a celestial ladder—an allusion to Jacob’s Ladder. What is Cubism?
