Digital print on Epson Premium Glossy 250gsm photo paper, float-mounted onto glass. // Julian Opie's Cornish Coast 1: Lantic Bay (2017) is a limited edition digital print, float-mounted on glass and framed in aluminum. The artwork captures the essence of the Cornish coast through Opie's minimalistic style, using simplified shapes and muted tones. The composition features a shoreline with waves gently meeting the beach, set against a backdrop of dark cliffs and a cloudy sky. The subdued color palette of grays and blues, contrasted with the darker landforms, evokes a serene yet moody atmosphere. Opie’s characteristic use of flat color planes and clean lines distills the landscape into an abstract and tranquil scene.

What is new British Sculpture?
New British Sculpture is the name referring to the work produced by a group of sculptors, installation artists, and other creators who exhibited together in London during the 1980s. This group included artists like Richard Deacon, Richard Wentworth, and Tony Cragg. Tim Woods helped define this movement by identifying four major themes: the blending of kitsch and pop culture, the use of UK urban waste in a bricolage style, the assignment of new meanings to everyday objects, and a playful approach using wit and humor.
