// Untitled 3/10 (Radikal) by Jacob Kassay is a limited edition lithograph from 2013 that manipulates printed media as an artistic form. Using pages from the Turkish newspaper Radikal, Kassay reinterprets the familiar layout of newsprint, presenting it in a faded, almost ghostly rendition that evokes a sense of nostalgia and ephemerality. The faint, textured print and muted grayscale tones strip the content of its immediacy, transforming news articles into abstract compositions. This artwork challenges viewers to reconsider the nature of information, memory, and the temporality of printed media, as it shifts from a source of current events to an artifact of cultural and political history.

What is minimalism?
Minimalism is a style in music and visual arts characterized by pared-down designs and simplicity. It began in Western art after World War II, gaining prominence particularly in American visual arts. Minimalism draws heavily on aspects of modernism and is often viewed as a reaction against Abstract Expressionism, as well as a precursor to post-minimal art practices. Prominent minimalist artists include Agnes Martin, Donald Judd, Robert Morris, Frank Stella, and Dan Flavin.
