Antoni Tapies
Antoni Tàpies (Spain, 1923–2012) was a Catalan painter, sculptor, and art theorist renowned for his abstract works that incorporated unconventional materials like sand, marble dust, and found objects. A leading figure in Art Informel, his textured surfaces and symbolic motifs explored themes of materiality and spirituality. Tàpies co-founded the avant-garde group Dau al Set and received numerous accolades, including the Golden Lion at the Venice Biennale.

What is Found Object?
A found object is a term used to describe a man-made or natural object, or a fragment of one, that an artist discovers or purchases and keeps for inspiration or as a work of art. The artist may also modify the object or incorporate it into a collage or assemblage, transforming it into a new piece of art.
