Original artwork; drawing; excellent condition // Cascade by Allen Jones is a 1999 pencil drawing that portrays two figures intertwined in a balanced and flowing composition. The lower figure supports the upper one, who leans back with arms extended, evoking a sense of freedom and elevation. The minimal, fluid lines create a sense of motion and harmony, characteristic of Jones' exploration of human forms in dynamic poses. The piece’s simplicity allows the figures’ expressive posture to convey themes of connection and mutual support, while the sketch-like quality adds an intimate, spontaneous feel to the artwork.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
