Edition of 45, plus7 A.P. 's - Hand Printed Black and White Stone Liihographic Print - Hand-signed by artist - In excellent condition // Allen Jones's High Society (1985) is a monochromatic lithograph that captures an intimate scene of social interaction and intrigue, rendered in expressive black and white. The composition features a gathering of figures in various postures, suggesting a layered narrative of complex relationships, possibly hinting at themes of sophistication, romance, and secrecy within a high-society setting. The viewer is drawn into the enigmatic world of these stylized characters, each positioned in moments of introspection, connection, or detachment. This lithograph, produced in a limited edition of 45 with 7 artist proofs, exemplifies Jones's talent for evoking emotion and story through the interplay of form, gesture, and tone.

What is pop-art?

Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
