Silkscreen on Paper. Flowarh$ – II (D) by Mr. Brainwash is a 2021 silkscreen print on paper measuring 36 x 36 inches, produced in a limited edition of 34. The composition features four expressive flower forms rendered as energetic paint splashes in silver, yellow, and vivid red tones. These bold shapes emerge from a layered background of graffiti marks, urban textures, and collage-like imagery in green and black. The work juxtaposes the spontaneity of dripping paint with the graphic clarity of stenciled floral silhouettes, a visual language that reflects the artist’s fusion of Pop Art references and contemporary street-art culture. Through vibrant color and dynamic gesture, the print transforms the traditional flower motif into a symbol of optimism, rebellion, and creative freedom.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
