The composition features two intertwined figures, their bodies rendered in soft, transparent pink and red tones, creating a sense of intimacy and affection. Beside them, a striking blue animal figure, likely a goat, adds an element of fantasy and playfulness. The figures are crowned with a small bouquet of green leaves, symbolizing fertility and love. The simplicity of Chagall's lines, coupled with the vibrant, contrasting colors, brings a poetic and dreamy quality to the artwork, characteristic of his exploration of love and imagination.

What is Surrealism?
Surrealism began in the 1920s as an art and literary movement with the goal of revealing the unconscious mind and unleashing the imagination by exploring unusual and dream-like imagery. Influenced by Sigmund Freud’s theories of psychoanalysis, Surrealist artists and writers sought to bring the unconscious into rational life, blurring the lines between reality and dreams. The movement aimed to challenge conventional perceptions and express the irrational aspects of the human experience.
