Diasec-mounted Giclée on aluminium composite panel, weighing 13.5kg.
Series: Rubikcubism.
Numbered and hand-signed on the label.
'Rubik Camouflage NVDR1-2' by Invader is a Giclée printing, 100 × 100 cm, produced in 2023. The composition replicates a large grid of solved and unsolved Rubik's Cube faces — each individual cube rendered with sharp-edged fidelity — arranged so that their collective coloured squares form a pixellated camouflage pattern in red, blue, green, yellow, white, and orange. Invader has worked since the 1990s with pixellated imagery drawn from 1970s and 1980s video game culture, translating it from illegal street installations across more than 60 cities worldwide into editions that bring the same visual logic indoors. Here, the Rubik's Cube functions as a ready-made pixel grid, turning a mass-produced puzzle into the raw material for a flat, graphic image that sits squarely within his long-running investigation of lo-res imagery in physical space.

What is Street art?
Street Art is artwork created and executed in public spaces, outside of traditional art venues. It gained popularity during the 1980s graffiti art boom and has since evolved into various forms and styles. Common forms of Street Art include pop-up art, sticker art, stencil graffiti, and street installations or sculptures. Terms like guerrilla art, neo-graffiti, post-graffiti, and urban art are often used interchangeably to describe this genre, which challenges conventional ideas about where and how art should be displayed.
