// Untitled 2 by Callum Innes is a limited edition print, created using etching and aquatint techniques. The composition is stark and abstract, divided into two bold sections. The left side features a solid, deep black field, evoking a sense of heaviness and depth. In contrast, the right side is a bright white space, disrupted only by a soft, horizontal blue brushstroke that appears almost translucent. The balance between these two contrasting spaces creates a visual tension, emphasizing the interaction between presence and absence, light and shadow. Innes’ minimalist approach allows for contemplation of form, color, and texture.

What is minimalism?
Minimalism is a style in music and visual arts characterized by pared-down designs and simplicity. It began in Western art after World War II, gaining prominence particularly in American visual arts. Minimalism draws heavily on aspects of modernism and is often viewed as a reaction against Abstract Expressionism, as well as a precursor to post-minimal art practices. Prominent minimalist artists include Agnes Martin, Donald Judd, Robert Morris, Frank Stella, and Dan Flavin.
