Hand-signed and numbered - The blue print - silkscreen on paper; the black - silkscreen on plastic/acrylic foil. // Big Bang Blue by Yaacov Agam is a limited edition silkscreen print that explores the interplay of color and form through geometric abstraction. The artwork consists of two contrasting squares: one in vibrant blue on paper and the other in stark black on acrylic foil. Both squares contain a smaller central square, drawing the viewer's gaze inward and creating a sense of depth and dimensionality. Agam’s use of contrasting colors and materials exemplifies his exploration of perception, as the blue evokes energy while the black introduces mystery. This minimalist composition invites reflection on space and balance within a confined form.

What is kinetic art?
Kinetic art is an international movement that emerged in the 1920s and gained prominence in the 1960s, referring to art that involves both apparent and real motion. It encompasses any medium that includes movement, either relying on actual motion for its effect or being perceived as moving by the viewer. Early examples include canvas paintings designed to create optical illusions of movement. Today, kinetic art often refers to three-dimensional figures and sculptures, such as those operated by machines or those that move naturally. The movement covers a variety of styles and techniques that frequently overlap.
