Pierre Soulages
Pierre Soulages (France, 1919–2022) was a master of abstract art, celebrated for his iconic 'noir-lumière' technique. Using intense black surfaces to play with light reflection, his works evoke depth and texture. Known as the 'Painter of Black,' Soulages’ art redefined abstraction, with pieces housed in major museums, including the Louvre and Centre Pompidou.
