Signed and numbered by the artist - Accompanied by artist-issued portfolio // Javier Calleja's Between The Lines (2016) is a limited edition silkscreen print that embodies the artist’s playful and whimsical style. The print features a lined notebook page, but in a clever twist, the lines appear to be pulled apart at the center, revealing a pair of large, green eyes peering out. Small hands grip the edges of the "tear" in the paper, adding an element of curiosity and surprise. The minimalistic design, combined with Calleja’s signature wide-eyed characters, evokes a sense of innocence and mischief, inviting viewers to imagine what lies beyond the page. This edition is signed and numbered by the artist, with only 50 prints available.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
