Felipe Pantone Digital Glazing P digital print pixel grid with vibrant pink, blue, yellow and grey gradients in abstract form

Digital Glazing P (2025) by Felipe Pantone is a large-format digital print, 100 × 70 cm, signed in marker and issued in an edition of 300. The composition is built from a grid of pixel-like squares, blending vibrant pinks, blues, and yellows with gradients of grey and black. The imagery evokes the distortion and color transitions of a digital screen, merging glitch aesthetics with painterly luminosity. Pantone’s mastery of optical blending transforms the rigid geometry of pixels into a fluid, immersive visual field, bridging the worlds of analog perception and digital technology.

What is kinetic art?

Kinetic art is an international movement that emerged in the 1920s and gained prominence in the 1960s, referring to art that involves both apparent and real motion. It encompasses any medium that includes movement, either relying on actual motion for its effect or being perceived as moving by the viewer. Early examples include canvas paintings designed to create optical illusions of movement. Today, kinetic art often refers to three-dimensional figures and sculptures, such as those operated by machines or those that move naturally. The movement covers a variety of styles and techniques that frequently overlap.
