One color lithograph on Rives BFK paper. Jaune (Yellow) by Ellsworth Kelly (1964–1965) exemplifies the artist’s iconic minimalist and hard-edge abstraction. This one-color lithograph features a bold, yellow geometric shape that seems to expand across the page with quiet confidence. Its soft curves and sharp vertical edge balance organic and architectural form. Printed on Rives BFK paper, the lithograph reflects Kelly’s deep engagement with color, form, and spatial harmony. Hand-signed and from an edition of 75, Jaune captures the purity and clarity central to Kelly’s visual language.

What is Surrealism?
Surrealism began in the 1920s as an art and literary movement with the goal of revealing the unconscious mind and unleashing the imagination by exploring unusual and dream-like imagery. Influenced by Sigmund Freud’s theories of psychoanalysis, Surrealist artists and writers sought to bring the unconscious into rational life, blurring the lines between reality and dreams. The movement aimed to challenge conventional perceptions and express the irrational aspects of the human experience.
