Hand-signed and numbered. // Art Will Save The World delivers David Shrigley's trademark deadpan wit in the form of an outsized artist's palette laden with exuberant blobs of colour — green, blue, yellow, purple, orange, teal, violet, cyan, red, white and pink — beneath the hand-lettered red proclamation that lends the work its title. The twenty-five-colour screenprint on heavyweight Somerset Tub Sized paper transforms a grand claim into a visual punchline, the palette's cheerful mess of pigment simultaneously endorsing and undercutting the slogan's earnest idealism.
