Tracey Emin’s A Deeper Place (2025) is a powerful large-scale lithograph that embodies her deeply personal visual language. Using two rich tones and expressive, fluid brushwork, Emin renders a reclining nude figure with raw intimacy. The subject’s form—simultaneously vulnerable and assertive—emerges through sweeping lines that oscillate between figuration and abstraction. This work continues her exploration of the emotional body, often centered on her own lived experience. Created on Somerset Warm White 400gsm paper, the lithograph draws on her long engagement with printmaking as a medium for immediacy and reflection. The edition is limited to 50, each signed and dated by the artist.

Wat is feministische kunst?

Feministische kunst verwijst naar de kunst die voortkwam uit de feministische kunstbeweging in de jaren 1960 en 1970. Het ontwikkelde zich met de bedoeling de genderidealen van de 20e eeuw te bekritiseren en de traditionele canon van de kunstgeschiedenis uit te dagen. Feministische kunst streeft ernaar een dialoog te creëren tussen het kunstwerk en de toeschouwer door middel van een feministische lens, waarbij vaak thema's als gender, identiteit en sociale rechtvaardigheid aan bod komen.
