What is Digital Art?

What is Digital Art?

An artistic practice or work that makes use of digital technology as a fundamental part of the creation and presentation process. Several different names have been used since 1970s to describe this process including multimedia and computer art. The digital art in itself is included in the large art umbrella called "the new media art" that has brought changes to the art industry. In fact, technology has completely transformed painting, drawing, sound/music and sculpture art into new digital forms.

Silkscreen

Silkscreen is a method for making prints using a screen made of silk or some other mesh fabric. The screen is prepared with a substance which only allows the ink forced through it to print in selected areas. Each color used needs a separate screen.

Laser print

A Laser print is made using red, blue and green laser to expose light onto photographic silver halide paper. The exposed paper is processed with photographic chemicals to produce an archival quality print. The digital technology produces sharp images and highly uniform color.

Marble

Marble is rare and expensive metamorphic rock comprise of limestone. It has been used for centuries to create statues, decorative floors and walls. It is translucent and durable, and used for free standing statues and relief sculptures. It’s chiseled away in increments when carving statues.
