William Klein

Original Signed Artworks & Limited Edition Prints For Sale

William Klein has made a name for himself in a variety of artistic circles. He originally trained as a painter under Fernand Leger. It was with his paintings that he first earned recognition. However, he quickly began photography. Thanks to his unique fashion photography, he grew to be a world-renowned photographer.

« Photography led me to experiment in graphic work and,
actually, painting. »

William Klein
His photos have appeared in magazines all over the world, includingVogue magazine. In addition to photography, he has also directed several films, documentaries, and dozens of commercials. Even though he has made art in a variety of different mediums, he is well-known for his ironic concepts, which appear in nearly all of his work.

« If I look back, I think most of the things I did - the films, the books, the collaborations with these magazines -
were mostly by accident. »

William Klein

He has notoriously rejected the conventional rules in art, especially in photography. As a result, his work often displays photos taken in natural light with wide-angle lenses, along with blurred motion. Thanks his vast work and his innovation in the world of photography and films, he continues to be one of the leading artists in modern times.

What is kinetic art?

What is kinetic art?

International movement referring to both apparent and real motion of art created in the 1920s and 1960s. It is explained as art emerging from any medium containing some movement that depends on motion for effect or can be perceived by the viewer. Canvas paintings are some of the notable and earliest examples of this art type. Speaking pertinently, kinetic art today refers to 3 dimensional figures and sculptures such as those operated by machines or those that move naturally. It encompasses a variety of styles and techniques that overlap.
