Le Jardin De Mousse

Joan Miró, Préparatifs d'Oiseaux III, 1963, aquatint with colorful splashes and gestural lines on Rives BFK wove paper.

Aquatint printed in colors on Rives BFK wove paper // Joan Miró's Préparatifs d'Oiseaux III (Bird Preparations III) from 1963 is a vivid aquatint that radiates the artist's signature playful abstraction. Created on Rives BFK wove paper, the composition bursts with gestural black lines interwoven with splashes of primary colors—red, yellow, blue—and organic green shapes. The work evokes a sense of movement and whimsy, as though capturing the flighty and unpredictable nature of birds. With only 75 pieces in this limited edition, the artwork exemplifies Miró's innovative approach to printmaking and his deep connection to the natural world, infused with childlike wonder and spontaneity.

What is dada?

Also known as Dadaism, Dada was a literary and artistic movement that began in 1916 in Zurich, Switzerland. It emerged as a rejection of rationalism and nationalism, which were seen as contributing factors to World War I. The movement had political undertones and was strongly anti-war. Dada activities included demonstrations, gatherings, and the publication of literary and art journals that explored cultural and political topics.
