Aquatint in colors and carborundum on wove paper // Joan Miró’s Le Jardin de Mousse (1968) is an exquisite aquatint in colors and carborundum on wove paper. The composition immerses the viewer in a dreamlike, organic world with a vibrant palette dominated by lush greens, deep blacks, and pops of red, blue, and yellow. The textured, abstract forms evoke a sense of movement and mystery, suggesting elements of nature such as moss, water, and foliage. The bold black shapes add weight and structure, creating a dynamic interplay with the softer, fluid forms. This limited-edition print (13.6 x 18.5 inches) exemplifies Miró’s mastery in blending surrealism with an almost tactile representation of the natural world.

What is dada?
Also known as Dadaism, Dada was a literary and artistic movement that began in 1916 in Zurich, Switzerland. It emerged as a rejection of rationalism and nationalism, which were seen as contributing factors to World War I. The movement had political undertones and was strongly anti-war. Dada activities included demonstrations, gatherings, and the publication of literary and art journals that explored cultural and political topics.
