Plaster and crushed glass - Unsigned, Labelled on the accompanying box // Future Relic 03 - Clock by Daniel Arsham, created in 2015, is a mixed media sculpture crafted from plaster and crushed glass. The piece presents a classic alarm clock, partially eroded to simulate the look of an ancient artifact. The clock’s minimalist and monochromatic white appearance, combined with the strategic decay, evokes a sense of time's fragility and the inevitability of technological obsolescence. Arsham’s work, part of his Future Relic series, invites viewers to reflect on the fleeting nature of everyday objects and their transformation into historical relics. This limited edition of 400 pieces remains unsigned but is labeled on its accompanying box, continuing Arsham’s theme of merging contemporary items with an archaeological aesthetic.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
