Cast Resin - Unsigned // Daniel Arsham’s Eroded Brillo Box Figure (2020) is a striking sculptural reinterpretation of Andy Warhol’s iconic Brillo Box. Crafted from cast resin, the sculpture takes the familiar shape of the Brillo soap pad box and presents it in a state of erosion, with its surfaces appearing weathered and decayed. Arsham’s work explores themes of time, decay, and the transformation of everyday objects into archaeological relics of the future. The delicate, geometric cavities give the box a fragile and timeless appearance, blending pop art with Arsham’s contemporary vision. This limited edition sculpture, though unsigned, encapsulates Arsham’s ability to transform mass-produced cultural symbols into objects of contemplation and historical speculation.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
