// The Great Destiny (2022) by DabsMyla is a surreal and symbolic lithograph, blending classical and modern elements in a striking pop art style. At the center of the composition is a sculpted bust reminiscent of ancient Greek or Roman statues, juxtaposed with a vibrant background of industrial smokestacks and geometric shapes. A still-life arrangement of fruits, including a peach and grapes, adds a layer of symbolism, evoking classical themes of beauty, time, and decay. The bold, contrasting colors—pinks, blues, and yellows—enhance the dreamlike quality of the scene, while the sharp lines and exaggerated shapes contribute to a sense of playful distortion. This limited-edition print continues DabsMyla’s exploration of surrealism, pop culture, and metaphysical themes.

What is pop-art?
Pop Art is an art movement that began in Britain in 1955 and in the late 1950s in the U.S. It challenged traditional fine arts by incorporating imagery from popular culture, such as news, advertising, and comic books. Pop Art often isolates and recontextualizes materials, combining them with unrelated elements. The movement is more about the attitudes and ideas that inspired it than the specific art itself. Pop Art is seen as a reaction against the dominant ideas of Abstract Expressionism, bringing everyday consumer culture into the realm of fine art.
