'Untitled' by Alexander Calder is an ink work on paper from circa 1961, presenting five black biomorphic forms — each built from two curved triangular lobes pinched at the centre — distributed across an off-white sheet in a loose diagonal drift. The forms vary in scale, the smallest isolated at left and the largest anchored upper right, giving the composition a sense of staggered movement across the picture plane. Calder signed and dated the work in the lower right corner. The shapes are direct studies for the sheet-metal elements of his mobiles: the pinched double-triangle is a recurring motif in his suspended sculptures of the same period, and the ink medium allowed him to work out spatial rhythm and implied motion rapidly on paper — the same concerns he described as 'composing motions' rather than static form.
