What is Art Nucleare?

Arte Nucleare was the name of an artist group founded in Milan in 1951. The group aimed to create art that responded to the dangers and technologies of the nuclear age. Their works often utilized automatic techniques and depicted devastated landscapes and mushroom clouds, reflecting the anxieties of a world on the brink of nuclear catastrophe.

Laser print

A laser print is created by using red, blue, and green lasers to expose photographic silver halide paper. After exposure, the paper is processed with photographic chemicals to produce an archival-quality print. This digital technology results in sharp images with highly uniform color and excellent detail.

Etching

Etching is a technique where a design is created on a metal surface by using a strong acid or mordant to eat away the unprotected parts of the metal, leaving the desired pattern in relief (intaglio). In modern art and manufacturing, different chemicals may be used depending on the material being etched.

New Generation Sculpture

New Generation Sculpture was a movement started in the 1960s by a group of British artists. They experimented with unconventional forms, materials, and colors, creating sculptures that did not rely on traditional bases. Their work often featured plastic sheeting, fiberglass, and other industrial materials, which were fastened together and brightly painted.
