Prasad’s landscapes perfectly capture the subversion of dreams; the scenery is familiar in the sense that you can clearly make out a sky, a mountainside, a tree, or a river – but the colours are often not what you would expect – imagine a blood-red sky or yellow mountains. It has also been remarked that Prasad’s paintings retain a child-like quality, in the sense that he denotes the fantasy and wild imaginings of youth as a means of expressing the disappointment we all feel when viewing certain nostalgic scenes through the eyes of an adult.
